It's difficult to imagine what the world was like before humans existed and began marking their territory. The thought of the Earth as a wild, thriving, lush planet unadulterated is an irresistible fantasy. One can only dream up the plants and animals that existed here prior to the dawn of civilization. 

Our Atlas earrings are designed to represent Earth. They are ornately designed on the outside with floral patterns made up of elliptical petals, representing the abundance of natural specimens that undoubtedly filled our planet long before human maps and conquering began. They are also hollow inside, like the remnants of a dream to return to the purest form nature Earth has ever seen. 

In Greek mythology, Atlas is a Titan condemned to hold up the skies for eternity, and is often depicted carrying the world on his shoulders as he's bent down on one knee.
